Birth Announcement Guidelines

Birth announcements, like other editorial material, must be turned in by 5 p.m., Friday, to be considered for publication in the next week's paper.

In some cases, an announcement may be held an additional week depending on space constraints or the number of birth announcements submitted that week.

Generally, birth announcements are run within two weeks of submittal.

In cases where parents have different last names, each parent must sign the birth announcement form.

Some hospitals provide birth announcements made out by the parents at the hospital; however, they often do not include such information as grand parents. So if you wish, you can send in your own information if you do not fill out the hospital form.
